Despite technological developments with this changing world of work, progress towards achieving gender equality continues showing a slow progression but, fortunately, uninterrupted.

For economic efficiency and social walk in unison, all members of society, men and women alike should be aware of their human potential to contribute to and benefit fully from the growth.

In recent decades, the processes of globalization, economic restructuring and flexible production have led to changes in employment patterns and work organization. Similarly, these changes are interacting, steadily and gradually, with new demographic and social structures, impacting on the daily lives men, women and families. The terms of participation of men and women in the labor market have been redefined, so that occupational segregation has created specific patterns in the processes that define the damage to health arising from work. social protection mechanisms are not alien to this new context, helping to ensure productivity, safety and health to new circumstances such as maternity, among others.
